Frontpage. Articles that you write can be visible on your frontpage simply by ticking the 'frontpage select' in your editor. If you dont want the full article to be displayed, you insert a 'read more' break where you want the article to be split. Anything after the 'read more' will be visible on a seperate page. (An example of this will be in the sample data). This diagram shows how our frontpage was originally configured. (Other configuration will vary). More than 5 articles set to show, will just be listed as a link to the pages. Where you put the 'Read more' in the article will determine how much of the article is shown on the frontpage. So if you only want a couple of lines to show, then put it in there. To set up your preferences, you have to go to menus/main menu then click 'home'. In parameters:
#leading is how many articles will display full width across the top of the page. #Intro Is how many articles intro to show (Any more will be shown as links at the bottom) #Columns is how many columns to split up the page after the first article. #Links max amount of links shown on the bottom of the remaining articles that are set to be shown on the frontpage. Multi-column order: Set to 'Across' will display as this diagram. To set the order like our example, Look at 'Parameters Advanced', Set to: 'Category Order'--'No, order by Primary Order only' 'Primary Order'--'Default' Then go to Content/Frontpage manager set the order that you want the articles to appear. (IMPORTANT: lastly click the little disk icon to save the order. We found that if you dont, the order will not be updated in the system). |
