Sections & Categories Manager ![]() Sections hold categories and categories hold the articles. So, if you were doing a site showing tourist infomation, then you could set it out thus: Create Sections called 'town names' (ie London, Birmingham, Leeds, etc) Create Categories under the Sections called 'Places' (ie Museums, Art Galleries, Theatres, etc) Then if you wanted to write an article about the Tate Gallery in London, in the editor you would select the section 'London' and the category 'Art Galleries'. The menus linking to these, you can have:Menu for the Section would show a linkable list of the cities. Menu for the categories would show a linkable list of the Places. You can also have a menu item linking to an individual article. You only have to make the menu items once. If you are adding items to the 'main menu' then you go to 'Extensions/Module manager' select 'main menu' and there you can control what pages the menu will show on, So, make a menu item once for all your site in one go, fantastic! More about the menus later....... |
